Tips:

  • Use a mug that is at least 12 ounces in size. This will give the cake enough room to rise and prevent it from overflowing.
  • Be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, dense cake. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Microwave the cake on high power for 1 minute at a time, checking it after each minute. This will help to prevent the cake from overcooking.
  • Let the cake cool for a few minutes before frosting it. This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.
  • Get creative with your toppings! You can top the cake with anything from whipped cream to ice cream to fresh berries.
