Tips:
- Use room temperature ingredients: This helps the ingredients mix together more easily and evenly, resulting in a smoother batter and a more consistent bake.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can develop the gluten in the flour, making the cake tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the cake in a loaf pan with a nonstick coating: This will help the cake release easily from the pan.
- Don't overbake the cake: A toothpick inserted into the center of the cake should come out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting it: This will help the frosting set properly.
