BAKED HOT DOGS
This is my first attempt at posting a recipe, I hope you all enjoy these tasty treats!! This was a great idea shared with me by my former mother-in-law. These are easy to do, tasty, and the recipe can be expanded to serve as few or as many as you need. Make sure you let them cool a bit before trying to open the foil up, as I...

Steps:
- 1. Tear sheets of aluminum foil and set aside. Chop onion. Slice cheese (I use the brick style Velveta cheese). Pre-heat oven to 350°
- 2. Place each hot dog inside a bun, squeeze mustard and ketchup along the sides of each hot dog. Take each slice of cheese and cut it in half, then place it on top of each hot dog. Top each hot dog with chopped onion (I do it this way because it helps keep the cheese from sticking to the foil).
- 3. Place each hot dog on a sheet of foil, fold foil around hot dog, and place on a baking sheet (I use a pizza pan). Bake for 30 minutes, remove from oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

HOT DOG SANDWICH
We loved it when our mom made these for us when we were kids. It is a fun way to shake up how you serve a hot dog, brat, etc. Feel free to sub your favorite hot dog style meat/veg product like turkey dogs, veggie dogs etc.

Steps:
- Prepare hot dogs according to package directions.
- Meanwhile, toast the bread in the toaster, or if you are grilling your hot dogs, put the bread on the grill for a minute or two on each side.
- Spread one piece of bread with ketchup.
- Place the cheese slice on a second piece of bread.
- When the hot dogs are ready, slice them down the center lengthwise, and then again horizontally. You will then have four pieces that should fit onto the bread next to one another.
- Place the hot dog on the bread with cheese.
- Add any other condiments you'd like at this point (I know we like it simple with just the cheese and ketchup!).
- Top with the second slice of bread.

Tips:
- Use high-quality hot dogs: The quality of the hot dogs will greatly impact the taste of the sandwich, so it's important to use high-quality ones. Look for hot dogs that are made with all-natural ingredients and are free of fillers and preservatives.
- Toast the hot dog buns: Toasting the hot dog buns will help them to hold up better and prevent them from getting soggy. You can toast them in a toaster, on a griddle, or in the oven.
- Smother the hot dogs in toppings: The toppings are what really make a baked hot dog sandwich special. Be generous with your toppings and use a variety of different ones to create a unique and flavorful sandwich.
- Use a good quality cheese: The cheese is another important ingredient in a baked hot dog sandwich. Use a cheese that melts well and has a good flavor. Cheddar, mozzarella, and Swiss are all good choices.
- Don't overcook the hot dogs: Hot dogs are already cooked, so you don't need to cook them for long. Overcooking them will make them tough and dry.
Conclusion:
Baked hot dog sandwiches are a quick, easy, and delicious meal that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They're perfect for a casual lunch or dinner, and they're also great for parties and potlucks. With so many different topping options available, there's a baked hot dog sandwich out there for everyone. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give baked hot dog sandwiches a try.
