Tips:

  • Choose the right turkey: Look for a fresh or frozen whole turkey or turkey breast that is between 12 and 16 pounds. A smaller turkey will cook faster, but a larger turkey will yield more meat.
  • Brine the turkey: Brining the turkey in a saltwater solution helps to keep it moist and flavorful. You can brine the turkey in a large pot or cooler for up to 24 hours.
  • Cook the turkey low and slow: The best way to cook a turkey is to roast it in a slow oven at 325 degrees Fahrenheit. This will help to prevent the turkey from drying out.
  • Use a meat thermometer: The best way to tell if the turkey is done cooking is to use a meat thermometer. Insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh and cook until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the turkey rest: Once the turkey is done cooking, let it rest for at least 15 minutes before carving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the turkey.

Conclusion:

Turkey BBQ sandwiches are a delicious and easy way to enjoy leftover turkey. They are perfect for a quick lunch or dinner, and they can be made with a variety of different ingredients. With a little planning, you can make a delicious and satisfying turkey BBQ sandwich that everyone will love.
