Time 50m

Yield Serves 6 to 8

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 pound shell-on medium shrimp
12 ounces cream cheese
3 tablespoons mayonnaise

2 to 3 serrano chiles, seeds removed, minced (1/4 cup)

Tips
###
  • Choose fresh, high-quality shrimp: Using fresh shrimp will ensure that your dip has the best flavor and texture. Opt for shrimp that are firm and have a slightly translucent appearance. Avoid shrimp that are discolored or have an off odor.
  • Use a variety of seasonings: The key to a flavorful shrimp dip is using a variety of seasonings. This recipe calls for a combination of garlic, onion, paprika, cayenne pepper, and Old Bay seasoning. Feel free to adjust the seasonings to your own taste preferences.
  • Use full-fat ingredients: Using full-fat ingredients, such as sour cream and cream cheese, will help to create a rich and creamy dip. Avoid using low-fat or non-fat ingredients, as they will result in a watery dip.
  • Chill the dip before serving: Chilling the dip before serving allows the flavors to meld and develop. It also makes the dip easier to handle and serve.
  • Serve with a variety of dippers: Shrimp dip can be served with a variety of dippers, such as crackers, chips, or vegetables. Choose dippers that you think will complement the flavors of the dip.
