Tips:

  • Choose the Right Potatoes: Opt for small, waxy potatoes like Red Bliss or New Potatoes. These hold their shape well and stay firm in the salad.
  • Cook Potatoes Properly: Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender but still firm to the bite. Avoid overcooking, as this will make them mushy.
  • Cool Potatoes Thoroughly: Once the potatoes are cooked, drain them and immediately place them in an ice bath to stop the cooking process and prevent them from becoming overcooked.
  • Use Fresh Dill: Fresh dill is essential for the best flavor. Chop it finely and add it to the salad just before serving to preserve its delicate flavor and aroma.
  • Make the Dressing in Advance: Prepare the dressing while the potatoes are cooking to allow the flavors to meld. This will enhance the overall taste of the salad.
  • Chill the Salad: Refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to further develop and blend together.
