Turkey Porcupine Meatballs image

I did not have any ground beef so had to sub with ground turkey ,with delicious results!I will be making them this way from now on .

Number Of Ingredients 13

1/2 c uncooked instant rice
1/2 c water
1/3 c fine chopped onion
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp celery salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1 lb ground turkey
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 can(s) 15oz tomato sauce
1 c water
2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • 1. In a bowl,combine the first seven ingredients,crumble over turkey,mix well.
  • 2. Shape into 1 1/2in. balls (i used a cookie scoop)
  • 3. In a large skillet,brown meatballs in oil,drain.
  • 4. Combine tomato sauce,brown sugar, worcestershire sauce,and water.
  • 5. Pour over meatballs,reduce heat,cover and simmer for about an hour.
