Maid Rites (loose meat sandwiches) image

If you have ever been to the Mid-West or watched Rosanne you probably have heard of Maid-Rite also known as the loose meat sandwich. It's a kind of sloppy joe without the red sauce. It is served with mustard, pickle and onion but I do like mine with ketchup on it too. Not sure where this recipe comes from originally....

I'm not a huge fan of loose meat sandwiches, but this recipe changed my mind. The ground beef is so well-seasoned and cooked, and the bun is perfectly toasted.

I've been making Maid-Rite loose meat sandwiches for years, and this recipe is the best I've found. The secret is in the seasoning. I like to add a little bit of garlic powder and onion powder to the ground beef. It really takes the flavor up a notch

These Maid-Rite loose meat sandwiches are a delightful taste of nostalgia. The ground beef is perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the bun is soft and fluffy. I added a slice of cheese and some pickles, and it was the perfect lunch.
