Frosted Lemon Bars image

These lemon bars are a family favorite. Quick an easy to make.

Number Of Ingredients 18

1/2 c butter soften
1/2 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/4 c flour
FILLING INGREDIENTS
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 c coconut, flaked
1/2 c almonds, chopped
2 tsp lemon peel grated
1/8 c fresh lemon juice
FROSTING INGREDIENTS
2 c powdered sugar
1 tsp lemon peeel grated
2 tsp fresh lemon juice
2 Tbsp milk

Steps:

  • 1. Mix butter, 1/2 brown sugar, 1c flour Press mixture into bottom of ungreaesd baking pan 9×13 Bake @ 350 10 min.
  • 2. Beat eggs ,1c brown sugar,vanilla until foamy Beat in 1/4c flour,baking powder,lemon peel,lemon juice ,salt Stir in coconut an almonds Spread over crust Bake 25min Cool completely
  • 3. Mix all ingredients for frosting Use enough milk until frosting is smooth and of spreading consistency
  • 4. Cut into bars 3×1 in. Yields 3 dozen bars
