Cherry Kuchen image

It is like eating a large kolache.

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 c canola oil
1 c cold water
1 c warm water
2 pkg active dry yeast
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
6 c flour
4 can(s) cherry pie filling or any other of your choice
2 c milk
1 c sugar
1/2 c margarine
4 tsp flour

Steps:

  • 1. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add rest of ingredients.
  • 2. More flour may be needed. Knead the dough like bread. Let rise.(1 hour)usually doubled Pumch. Let rise. (1 hour)
  • 3. Divide into two pieces. Press into sprayed pans. Pour on cherries or topping of choice. Let rise
  • 4. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
  • 5. Topping: Remaining ingredients Mix and cook until thick over medium heat stirring constantly. Watching for scotching.
