Steps:
- Prepare the grill for direct cooking over medium heat (350° to 450°F).
- In a large bowl gently combine the patty ingredients. With wet hands, form four loosely packed patties of equal size, each shaped to fit the buns and about 3/4 inch thick. Don't compact the meat too much or the patties will be tough. Using your thumb or the back of a spoon, make a shallow indentation about 1 inch wide in the center of each patty. This will help the patties cook evenly and prevent them from puffing on the grill. Brush the pineapple slices with canola oil.
- Brush the cooking grates clean. Grill the patties over direct medium heat, with the lid closed as much as possible, until cooked through, 10 to 15 minutes, turning once or twice. At the same time, grill the pineapple over direct medium heat until lightly charred and softened, about 8 minutes, turning once. Remove from the grill as they are done.
- Grill the buns, cut side down, over direct medium heat until lightly toasted, about 1 minute. Build the burgers on toasted buns with lettuce, a patty, hoisin sauce, and a pineapple slice. Serve warm.

Tips:
- Choose a ground pork blend with a good fat-to-lean ratio, such as 80/20 or 70/30. This will help keep the burgers moist and juicy.
- Season the pork burgers liberally with salt and pepper, and add some additional herbs and spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or chili powder, to taste.
- Form the pork burgers into patties that are about 1/2-inch thick and 3-4 inches in diameter. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to help prevent it from puffing up during cooking.
- Grill the pork burgers over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through. Be careful not to overcook the burgers, or they will become dry and tough.
- While the pork burgers are cooking, grill some pineapple slices and bell peppers. This will add a sweet and smoky flavor to the burgers.
- Serve the pork burgers on buns with your favorite toppings, such as grilled pineapple, bell peppers, lettuce, tomato, and cheese.
Conclusion:
Pork burgers are a delicious and easy-to-make alternative to beef burgers. They are moist, juicy, and flavorful, and can be topped with a variety of ingredients to create a unique and satisfying meal. Whether you are grilling them in the backyard or cooking them in a skillet on the stovetop, pork burgers are sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
