EASIEST ANIMAL CRACKERS RECIPE
If you use larger cookie cutters, you may need to bake on the longer end of the baking time-and mini cookie cutters on the shorter end. This makes a relatively small batch, so double it if you want extras to last all week!

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Place all ingredients into a bowl and use your hand to mix together to form a dough. (If the dough is a little crumbly, be sure that it's throughly combined and then if it's still crumbly, add 1/2-1 tablespoon additional milk until it comes together.)
- Make a flattened disc of dough.
- Roll the dough ¼-inch thick between two pieces of lightly floured pieces of parchment paper. (The flour will ensure that the cut outs are easy to move.)
- Cut out the dough with a cookie cutter and transfer to the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 7-9 minutes, until lightly browned around the edges.
- Remove from the oven, let cool on the baking sheet for a minute, and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Steps:
- For the dough: Add the granulated sugar and butter to the bowl of an electric mixer and beat until smooth. Add the vanilla and egg and beat again, scraping the sides of the bowl halfway through. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and the milk to the mixer until the dough comes together. Flatten the dough into a disc and put it in a plastic bag. Refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or baking mats.
- Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut out as many cookies as you can in a variety of animal shapes. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheets and bake until they're just barely done, 8 to 10 minutes; you want them to be set, but not brown. Let the cookies cool completely before decorating.
- For the frosting: Sift the powdered sugar into a bowl, add the food coloring and 1/4 cup cold water and stir to combine
- Transfer the cookies to a cooling rack set over a baking sheet and drizzle the frosting over them. Let the frosting dry before serving the cookies, about 2 hours.

Steps:
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and honey until well combined.
- Add the egg and vanilla, and beat in.
- Next, add the dry ingredients: the flours, baking powder and cinnamon and mix to form a dough.
- Wrap the dough in cling wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. (You can use it straight away but it's a little easier to roll when it has chilled for a bit).
- Pre-heat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll half of the dough out onto a floured surface, about ¼ inch thick.
- Using Animal Cookie Cutters or any cookie cutters cut out the dough into shapes. Place the crackers onto prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown around the edges.
- Let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheets before enjoying. Stored cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days.
ENGLISH OAT CRACKERS
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line two sheet pans with parchment paper.
- Place the oats, flour, brown sugar, and kosher salt in a food processor fitted with the steel blade and pulse for 45 to 60 seconds, until the oats are coarsely ground. Add the butter and pulse 15 to 20 times, until the butter is the size of peas.
- Dissolve the baking soda in the lukewarm water and drizzle it over the crumbs in the food processor. Pulse until the mixture is evenly moistened and can be pressed into balls that will hold together.
- With a medium (1 3/4-inch) ice cream scoop or two spoons, scoop the dough into your hands and roll them into round balls. Evenly space 12 balls on the prepared sheet pans. Flour the bottom of a flat-bottomed 3-inch-diameter drinking glass and use it to flatten each cracker to 1/8 inch thick and about 3 inches in diameter. The crackers will not be perfectly round. If there is a lot of flour on the crackers, turn them over with a metal spatula. Sprinkle with the fleur de sel and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown on the edges. Serve warm or at room temperature.
HEALTHY SEED AND OAT CRACKERS
These crackers are super crispy, loaded with nutrients and they couldn't be easier. Just give them a quick soak in hot water - this helps them create a gel, for binding - and pop them in the oven. They're a great gluten-free and vegan alternative to traditional crackers as the perfect accompaniment to cheese, dips or hummus and, when broken into small pieces, for lending salads added crunch. They're so good you may never buy crackers again!

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line an 18-by-13-inch rimmed baking sheet with parchment.
- Combine the oats, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, poppy seeds and 2 teaspoons salt in a large bowl and stir to combine with a rubber spatula. Add the olive oil, maple syrup and hot water and stir to incorporate. Allow the mixture to rest for 15 minutes.
- Stir the mixture to ensure any residual liquid on the bottom is evenly dispersed and then pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Place a second piece of parchment on top and then use the palms of your hands to press and spread the mixture into an even layer (1/8 to 1/4 inch thick), making sure to spread all the way to edges of the pan (gently running a small offset spatula over the parchment also helps to spread the mixture evenly). Remove the top piece of parchment and sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- Bake until the edges are slightly golden brown and beginning to pull away from the sides of the baking sheet, about 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and cut into 24 pieces (each 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches) using a pizza cutter or sharp knife (see Cook's Note). Return the crackers to the oven and continue to bake until light golden brown and crisp, about 45 minutes. Allow the crackers to cool completely before serving. Store the crackers for up to 1 week in an airtight container.

Place the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, and roll out 1/8-inch thick. Using a knife, partially slice through the dough in desired shapes.

Tips:
- Use old-fashioned oats. They will give your cookies a chewier texture than quick-cooking oats.
- Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing will make your cookies tough.
- Chill the dough before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
- Use a cookie scoop to drop the dough onto the baking sheet. This will help you get evenly sized cookies.
- Bake the cookies until they are just set. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
Conclusion:
Oatmeal animal crackers are a fun and easy snack to make at home. They are perfect for kids' parties or lunchboxes. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and healthy treat that the whole family will enjoy. So next time you are looking for a fun and easy baking project, give these oatmeal animal crackers a try!
