Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Bring water, vinegar and brown sugar to a boil. Add the onions and remove from the heat. Cover, and set aside until the onions come to room temperature.
- Trim the crusts off the bread and cut the bread into thirds, for 3 rectangles per piece. Lightly brush both sides of the bread pieces with olive oil and lay out on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven until just crisp and lightly brown, about 5 minutes. Cool.
- To assemble: Quarter, core, and very thinly slice the apple, (a mandolin is terrific for this). Very thinly slice the cheese into triangles or shards that will fit nicely on the bread.
- Place a dab or smear of mustard on the bread. Place a piece of apple, cheese and 1 or 2 sprigs of watercress on each piece of toasted bread. Wrap a small piece of prosciutto around each stack to make a neat package. Top with a little bit of the pickled onions, a drizzle of olive oil and freshly cracked black pepper. Serve at room temperature.

Steps:
- 1. Heat oven to 400•. Cut each biscuit in half CROSSWISE, (not horizontal through middle), making a half moon shape. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, spread tops with a little mustard. (Takes about 2-3 Tbl.) Bake for 10-14 minutes or til golden brown. Cool on wire rack 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine onions and butter, mix well. In another small bowl mix mustard, mayo and honey. Split each biscuit open with sharp knife. Spread bottoms with butter mixture. Top each with ham, cheese and lettuce. Spread inside tops liberally with mustard-mayo-honey sauce. Place on top/lid. Spear an olive onto frilled pick, then stick through sandwich. You can make a half a batch if you want, but if serving even 10-12 people, best to make 40!
BAKED HAM AND CHEESE PARTY SANDWICHES
Try this with different kinds of ham, ex: smoked ham or honey ham and Kings Hawaiian also makes those party rolls in wheat-yum! In my oven, to bake for 20 minutes is not quite long enough - so I just bake the 20 mins and hold in a 200 degree oven until ready to serve if transporting. These are so good, I am asked to bring them...
