I've used this recipe for almost 40 years and love it because it's a little different than most. My mom always made Santa cookies, and we'd put them into little clear bags tied with ribbon to hang on the tree.-Ann Bush, Colorado City, Colorado

Tips:

  • Prep your ingredients in advance: Before you start baking, make sure all of your ingredients are measured and ready to go. This will help you stay organized and avoid any scrambling.
  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients you use, the better your cookies will taste. Look for high-quality butter, flour, sugar, and chocolate chips.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough will make your cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Bake the cookies at the right temperature: The temperature of your oven will affect the texture of your cookies. For chewy cookies, bake them at a lower temperature. For crispy cookies, bake them at a higher temperature.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before decorating: If you decorate the cookies while they are still warm, the decorations will melt or slide off.

Conclusion:

Jolly Santa cookies are a delicious and festive treat that are perfect for Christmas parties and gatherings. With a little planning and effort, you can make these cookies at home and enjoy them with your family and friends. So, gather your ingredients, put on your apron, and let's get baking!
