Tips:

  • Choose the right sausage: For the best flavor, use a high-quality summer sausage that is made with fresh, lean meat. Avoid sausages that are made with fillers or preservatives.
  • Slice the sausage thinly: This will help it cook evenly and prevent it from becoming dry.
  • Use a large skillet: This will give the sausage plenty of room to cook without overcrowding.
  • Cook the sausage over medium heat: This will help it cook evenly without burning.
  • Stir the sausage frequently: This will help it cook evenly and prevent it from sticking to the pan.
  • Add the cheese and peppers at the end of cooking: This will prevent the cheese from melting and the peppers from becoming too soft.
  • Serve the sausage immediately: This is when it is at its best flavor.
