INDIANA HOT HAM DIP

Indiana Hot Ham Dip image

This is a weird Southern Indiana dip that I have learned is best when PRETZEL STICKS are dipped into it! I know it sounds odd, but it truly is addictive! It's kid-friendly too--my 6 year old son will sit with me for HOURS on the couch, just dipping pretzels into this stuff and eating! It also has a strange hold on grown men in Indiana who drink lots of beer while watching sports. They literally whine like girls if they don't have it when the Super Bowl begins...LOL! It's surprisingly delicious and addictive. :)

PARTY HAM DIP

Party Ham Dip image

Great party dip! The recipe listed below is doubled. I usually make it doubled since we like it so much. Can be served with pork rinds for low carb. I serve it (when not on low carb) with Wheat Thins.

Time 2h5m

Yield 8-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 (8 ounce) packages Philadelphia Cream Cheese, room temperature
2 (5 ounce) cans canned flake ham (Hormel Chunky not deviled, like canned tuna, and chicken)
1/2 cup Hellmann's mayonnaise
1/4-1/2 cup sour cream (to thin)
4 -5 green onions, chopped, tops and all (more or less to your taste)
5 -6 dashes louisiana hot sauce, to taste
1 dash Accent seasoning (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix the cream cheese, ham and mayonnaise with mixer.
  • Add the chopped Onions, Louisiana Hot Sauce and Sour Cream by hand to thin to the right consistency.
  • Chill until set, several hours.
  • When set this can be rolled into a ball, or a half moon, and rolled/topped with chopped nuts if you want to fancy it up a bit.
  • But we don't usually wait for that.
  • That's it! I hope you enjoy it!

HAM-AND-SPINACH DIP

Ham-and-Spinach Dip image

This recipe calls for Black Forest ham, but feel free to get creative and substitute serrano, prosciutto, or your favorite. Also, use frozen spinachin lieu of fresh, because it's equally yummy and a huge time-saver.

Categories     Food & Cooking     Appetizers

Time 55m

Yield Serves 6 to 8

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 small onion, finely chopped (1/2 cup)
1/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1/2 cups whole milk, room temperature
1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika, plus more for sprinkling
1/2 cup finely chopped Black Forest ham (2 1/2 ounces)
1 1/4 cups shredded Manchego cheese (4 ounces)
1 box (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and cook, stirring, until softened, about 3 minutes. Add flour and cook, stirring, 1 minute more. Add milk and whisk until mixture has thickened, about 4 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in paprika, ham, 3/4 cup cheese, and spinach. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Transfer mixture to a 1-quart baking dish. Top with remaining 1/2 cup cheese and sprinkle lightly with more paprika. Bake 10 minutes. Adjust oven to broil; broil until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes and serve.

Tips:

  • Using a food processor or blender will make the dip smoother and creamier.
  • For a chunkier dip, chop the ham and cheese by hand.
  • If you don't have cream cheese, you can use sour cream or Greek yogurt instead.
  • Add a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce for a little extra flavor.
  • Garnish the dip with chopped green onions, chives, or parsley.
  • Serve the dip with crackers, chips, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

Hot Country Ham Dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. This dip is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering.
