Tips:

  • Use a variety of onions: This will give your soup a more complex flavor. Some good options include yellow onions, white onions, and red onions.
  • caramelize the onions slowly and patiently: This is the key to getting a rich, flavorful soup. Don't rush the process, or the onions will burn.
  • Use a good quality beef broth: This will make a big difference in the flavor of your soup. If you can, make your own beef broth using beef bones, vegetables, and herbs.
  • Add some fresh herbs: This will brighten up the flavor of your soup. Some good options include thyme, rosemary, and parsley.
  • Garnish your soup with something special: This could be a dollop of sour cream, a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese, or a few croutons.
