Steps:
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar, 1/2 cup water, and a few pieces of lemon rind (yellow part only). Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
- Squeeze lemons and combine juice with sugar syrup, vanilla, and remaining cold water.
- Add ice and serve in tall glasses.
Tips:
- For the best flavor, use fresh lemons. If you don't have fresh lemons, you can use bottled lemon juice, but the flavor will be less bright.
- Roll the lemons on the counter before juicing them. This will help release more juice.
- Use a citrus juicer to extract the juice from the lemons. If you don't have a citrus juicer, you can use a fork or a spoon to squeeze the juice out of the lemons.
- Strain the lemonade through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any pulp or seeds.
- Sweeten the lemonade to taste with sugar, honey, or another sweetener.
- Serve the lemonade chilled or over ice.
Conclusion:
Fresh squeezed lemonade is a delicious and refreshing drink that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is a good source of vitamin C and other nutrients, and it can be a healthy alternative to sugary drinks. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a delicious batch of lemonade at home.
