FLUFFY BELGIAN WAFFLES RECIPE

Fluffy Belgian Waffles Recipe image

This is the waffle recipe I always use. It is a favorite in our house. You can either use the store bought Bisquick® or make up a batch of your own. There are a lot of great recipes for that here on Zaar!! Note: the original recipe states this makes 12 waffles. When I made mine I only got 6 waffles out of the batter.

Time 20m

1 cup milk
2 1/3 cups original Bisquick baking mix
2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Tips:

  • To achieve fluffy waffles, ensure the waffle batter is not overmixed. Overmixing can result in dense and chewy waffles.
  • Allow the waffle batter to rest for 5-10 minutes before cooking. This resting time allows the gluten in the flour to relax, resulting in a more tender waffle.
  • Use a well-seasoned waffle iron. A properly seasoned waffle iron will prevent sticking and ensure the waffles cook evenly.
  • Do not overcrowd the waffle iron. Pour just enough batter to cover the cooking surface. Overcrowding the waffle iron can result in uneven cooking and soggy waffles.
  • Cook the waffles according to the manufacturer's instructions. The cooking time may vary depending on the type of waffle iron used.
  • Serve the waffles immediately with your favorite toppings. Waffles are best enjoyed fresh and warm.

Conclusion:

Fluffy Belgian waffles are a delicious and versatile breakfast option that can be enjoyed with a variety of toppings. By following these tips, you can create perfect waffles every time. Whether you prefer them plain or topped with butter, syrup, fruit, or whipped cream, these waffles are sure to satisfy your cravings. So, gather your ingredients, fire up your waffle iron, and indulge in a delightful breakfast treat.
