Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 cup chopped green onion
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 (12 ounce) package coleslaw mix (cabbage and carrots)

Steps:

  • In small bowl combine lime juice, olive oil, sugar.
  • Combine green onions, cilantro and coleslaw mix in a large bowl.
  • Drizzle juice mixture over coleslaw mixture; toss well to coat.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh and vibrant ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will greatly impact the taste of your cilantro coleslaw. Look for fresh, crisp cabbage, carrots, and cilantro. Use high-quality mayonnaise and vinegar, and add a touch of sweetness with honey or sugar.
  • Shred the cabbage and carrots finely: This will help the coleslaw absorb the dressing better and make it easier to eat. You can use a food processor or mandoline to shred the vegetables quickly and easily.
  • Add the cilantro last: Cilantro is a delicate herb that can easily be overpowered by other flavors. Stir it in just before serving to preserve its freshness and flavor.
  • Taste and adjust the dressing: The dressing is the key to a great cilantro coleslaw. Taste it and adjust the seasonings to your liking. You may want to add more mayonnaise, vinegar, honey, or salt and pepper.
  • Chill the coleslaw before serving: This will help the flavors meld and make the coleslaw more refreshing. Serve it chilled as a side dish or on top of tacos, burgers, or sandwiches.

Conclusion:

Cilantro coleslaw is a refreshing and flavorful side dish that is perfect for summer gatherings. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your liking. With its crunchy texture, tangy dressing, and vibrant colors, cilantro coleslaw is sure to be a hit at your next party or potluck.
