Number Of Ingredients 5

1pkg white cake mix
1 1/3 c water
2 egg whites
2 pkg (1.4 oz. each) chocolate instant pudding
4 c cold milk

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 deg. Beat first 3 ingredients with mixer until blended. Pour into 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 35 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Immediately poke deep holes in cake at 1-inch intervals, using handle of wooden spoon. Beat pudding mixes and milk in large bowl with whisk 2 min.; pour half into holes in warm cake. Let remaining pudding stand until slightly thickened. Spread over top of cake. Refrigerate 1 hour.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cake: A chocolate cake with a dense crumb is ideal for this recipe. A lighter cake will crumble when you poke it.
  • Make sure the cake is completely cool before poking it: If the cake is still warm, the chocolate pudding will melt and run out of the holes.
  • Use a toothpick or skewer to poke the holes: A fork will make too big of holes and the chocolate pudding will run out.
  • Be generous with the chocolate pudding: Pour the chocolate pudding slowly over the holes, making sure to fill them all up.
  • Chill the cake for at least 4 hours before serving: This will give the chocolate pudding time to set and the flavors to meld.
  • Top the cake with your favorite toppings: Whipped cream, chocolate chips, or fresh fruit are all great options.

Conclusion:

Chocolate pudding poke cake is a classic dessert that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its rich chocolate flavor and creamy pudding filling, this cake is sure to be a hit at your next party or potluck. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy dessert, give chocolate pudding poke cake a try. You won't be disappointed!
