Tips:

  • Choose the right pasta. Elbow macaroni is the classic choice for goulash, but you can use any small pasta shape you like. Penne, shells, or rotini would all work well.
  • Don't overcook the pasta. Cook the pasta according to the package directions, but drain it a minute or two before it's fully cooked. This will help it hold its shape and prevent it from becoming mushy.
  • Use a good quality cheese. A sharp cheddar cheese is a classic choice for goulash, but you can use any type of cheese you like. Monterey Jack, mozzarella, or Parmesan would all be good options.
  • Don't skimp on the spices. Paprika, cumin, and garlic powder are essential spices for goulash. You can also add other spices, such as chili powder, oregano, or thyme, to taste.
  • Serve it with your favorite toppings. Sour cream, shredded cheese, and chopped green onions are all classic toppings for goulash. You can also serve it with bread or crackers.

Conclusion:

Cheesy goulash is a hearty and comforting dish that is perfect for a cold winter day. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give cheesy goulash a try. You won't be disappointed!
