I served this with fresh broccoli sauteed with olive oil and garlic. I drizzled some of the cooked Candy Wings sauce over the sauteed broccoli. It was perfect! This recipe was posted by a...

CANDIED CHICKEN WINGS

Candied Chicken Wings image

My new favourite chicken wing recipe, I got this from my mother-in-law who is a great cook. This recipe works well if you boil the wings before adding the sauce and baking them... just reduce baking time accordingly. Can be doubled or halved easily with excellent results

Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 1h40m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 -3 lbs chicken wings
1 dash salt
1 dash pepper
1 dash paprika
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup soya sauce
4 tablespoons brown sugar
1 garlic clove, crushed (can use garlic power for ease)
1/4 cup ketchup

Steps:

  • Season cleaned wings with salt, pepper and paprika.
  • Place in shallow baking dish.
  • Mix remaining ingredients and pour over wings.
  • Bake uncovered at 325, basting every 15 minutes, for 1 - 1 1/2 hours.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken wings: It is best to use fresh, whole chicken wings for this recipe. Avoid using frozen chicken wings, as they tend to be tougher and less flavorful.
  • Marinate the chicken wings: Marinating the chicken wings in the garlic sauce for at least 30 minutes helps to infuse them with flavor and makes them more tender.
  • Bake the chicken wings on a wire rack: This allows the air to circulate around the wings, resulting in evenly cooked and crispy wings.
  • Baste the chicken wings with the garlic sauce: Basting the wings with the garlic sauce during the baking process helps to keep them moist and flavorful.
  • Serve the chicken wings hot: Candied garlic chicken wings are best served hot, straight out of the oven. They can be served with a variety of dipping sauces, such as ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, or honey mustard.

Conclusion:

Candied garlic chicken wings are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. They are perfect for parties, game days, or any other occasion. With their sweet and savory flavor, crispy texture, and addictive garlic sauce, these wings are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you are looking for a new and exciting way to enjoy chicken wings, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
