EASY STOVE TOP MEATLOAF

Easy Stove Top Meatloaf image

This is the easiest and best tasting meatloaf I've ever had. My family loves it too! It's extremely versatile. To easily add variety, try varying the sauce used in and on the meatloaf -- use ketchup for traditional, but you can use just about anything else! I've listed this with my favorites flavor. This makes an excellent OAMC or freezer meal as well. Finally, it can even be cooked in the crock pot instead of the oven, on high, for about 3-4 hours or on low all day. Don't add any liquid.

Time 1h

Yield 2 loaves, 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 lbs ground beef
1 (6 ounce) box Stove Top stuffing mix, any flavor
1/4 cup hot water
1/4 cup steak sauce (I prefer Country Bob's)
1/3 cup barbecue sauce

Steps:

  • Mix together the first four ingredients.
  • Divide and shape into two loaves.
  • If desired, freeze one or both loaves at this point.
  • When ready to cook, top (thawed) loaf with BBQ sauce and bake, uncovered, at 350 for 45 min to an hour.

Tips:

  • To ensure even cooking, use a meatloaf pan or a baking dish with high sides.
  • To achieve a crispy crust, brush the meatloaf with melted butter or cooking oil before baking.
  • To prevent the meatloaf from drying out, add some moisture to the mixture, such as eggs, milk, or tomato sauce.
  • If you're using a meatloaf mix, follow the package instructions for cooking times and temperatures.
  • To test if the meatloaf is cooked through, insert a meat thermometer into the center. It should read 165°F (74°C).
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the juices redistribute and prevent the meatloaf from falling apart.
  • Serve the meatloaf with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, green beans, or corn.

Conclusion:

With so many delicious variations, it's no wonder that Bonnie's Stovetop Meat Loaves are a family favorite. Whether you prefer a classic meatloaf, a cheesy meatloaf, or a meatloaf with a sweet and tangy glaze, there's a recipe here for everyone.
