Tips:

  • Toast the walnuts: Toasting the walnuts enhances their flavor and makes them more fragrant. To toast the walnuts, spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake them at 350°F for 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and fragrant.
  • Grind the walnuts finely: Grinding the walnuts finely helps to incorporate them evenly into the cookie dough. You can use a food processor or a blender to grind the walnuts.
  • Chill the cookie dough: Chilling the cookie dough helps to develop the flavor and makes it easier to handle. You can chill the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  • Use a cookie scoop: A cookie scoop helps to ensure that all of the cookies are the same size and shape. This will help them to bake evenly.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set: The cookies should be baked until they are just set, but not overbaked. This will help them to stay soft and chewy.

Conclusion:

Black walnut cookies are a delicious and classic treat. They are perfect for any occasion, from a casual gathering to a holiday party. With their rich, nutty flavor and chewy texture, these cookies are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
