World's Best Spaghetti Sauce Ever from The Bewitchin' Kitchen. Filled with savory meats and vegetables. This is sure to be a hit!

Provided by The Bewitchin Kitchen

Categories     Main Course

Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 18

1.5 lbs extra lean ground beef (2 lbs if not using hot italian sausage)
1 lb Hot Italian Sausage (casings removed)
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 large onion (diced)
1 green bell pepper (diced)
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1 cup white wine (beef broth works too)
1 28oz can crushed tomatoes
1/2 can tomato paste (4 oz can)
1 jar marinara sauce (I like Safeway O Organics)
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp thyme
2 bay leaves
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 - 1 tsp tsp crushed red pepper (start small and increase the heat by taste)
2 tbsp dried parsley
1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In a large pot, over medium heat, cook up your beef and hot italian sausage. When the meat is cooked, drain the meat and set aside (I leave it sitting in a colander over the sink).
  • Heat up the olive oil and add the onion and green pepper. Saute until the onion is soft (about 4-5 minutes) and then add the garlic. Give it a good stir for another minute or two (until fragrant).
  • Add the wine (doesn't matter what kind I have used Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and even Moscato) and reduce for about two minutes.
  • Next up is the crushed tomatoes, paste, jar of marinara, oregano, thyme, sugar, bay leaves, crushed pepper flakes, and salt. I usually stir this together and let simmer a few minutes.
  • Add the meat. Stir and put a lid on.
  • Let this simmer on low - medium/low for at least an hour. If you can get away for longer, do it.
  • After your hour is up, add the parmesan cheese and parsley. Stir and simmer for another thirty minutes.
  • Serve with desired pasta (or spaghetti squash) and top with more parmesan cheese.

THE BEST SPAGHETTI (WITH MEAT) SAUCE IN THE WORLD

THE BEST SPAGHETTI (WITH MEAT) SAUCE IN THE WORLD image

I'm thrilled to share my signature spaghetti sauce recipe with you! This recipe calls for a slow cooker, which is indispensable for achieving the excellent texture, flavor, and complexity. I've tweaked and perfected the recipe over decades~it's off the charts delicious and so easy to make! A batch of this hearty, savory sauce is always in my freezer. I can pull it out and reheat it for unexpected company or take it to someone who needs a meal. It tastes "just made" even after being in the freezer for a few months. Number Of Ingredients 19

2 pound(s) ground chuck
1 - link, hot italian sausage (optional)
2 tablespoon(s) olive oil, extra virgin
1 - onion, chopped (or one cup frozen)
1/2 cup(s) bell pepper, fresh or frozen
5-6 clove(s) garlic, minced
1 can(s) (15 oz) tomato sauce
2 can(s) (6 oz) tomato paste
- 3/4 - 1 c water (half water, half wine is also good)
1 tablespoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon(s) chili powder
2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar
2 teaspoon(s) basil, dried
2 teaspoon(s) oregano, dried
1 teaspoon(s) thyme, dried
1 - bay leaf
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 - 1/2 c freshly grated parmesan
1 jar(s) (24 oz) spaghetti sauce (i use bertolli tomato basil)

Steps:

  • Heat a small amount of extra virgin olive oil in skillet.
  • Begin browning meat on medium heat; crumble meat into small pieces so there are no chunks.
  • Add onions and bell pepper as meat begins to brown.
  • Pour off liquid when it gets heavy so that meat will brown rather than braise.
  • Add garlic; continue cooking until meat is fully browned. Pour off remaining fat.
  • Sprinkle meat with Worcestershire and salt & pepper to taste.
  • Mix in tomato sauce, tomato paste, and diced tomatoes.
  • Add seasonings--chili powder, brown sugar, basil, oregano, thyme, and bay leaf--and parmesan cheese.
  • Cook in slow cooker on low, for 6-7 hours. (I've tried this recipe on the stovetop, and it never turns out the same. Low and slow are the way to go with this yummy sauce!)
  • I most often serve this spaghetti sauce with pasta (and spaghetti squash pasta for low-carb friends), Johnny's Great Caesar Garlic Bread and Easy Peasy Baby Bleu Salad for the Best.Meal.Ever!
  • To freeze: Make the recipe as written but omit the jarred spaghetti sauce and parmesan cheese. Allow sauce to cool for 30 minutes before transferring to a freezer gallon ziploc bag. Remove as much air from bag as possible, label and date the item, and place in the freezer. To prepare from frozen: Thaw sauce or defrost, placing into a slow cooker. Add the jar of spaghetti sauce and freshly grated parmesan cheese. Cook on low, 6-7 hours.

MOM'S BEST SPAGHETTI SAUCE

Mom's Best Spaghetti Sauce image

A simple, slow cooked, authentic spaghetti sauce, as good as the restaurants serve...or better! The secret ingredient is baking soda, but do not taste the sauce right after adding it. Wait a while, and this sauce will not disappoint you. It is good right from the stove, but the flavors blend overnight. Best served with your favorite meatball recipe, where the meatballs cook in the sauce the last half hour. Be prepared to take a nap after eating.

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 13

4 (14.5 ounce) cans whole peeled tomatoes
2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
4 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
3 cups water
4 cups fresh sliced mushrooms
2 onions, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
4 teaspoons white sugar
¼ cup chopped fresh basil
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
2 pinches baking soda
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Mix together whole tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, mushrooms, onions, garlic, sugar, salt and pepper, basil, and 1 pinch of baking soda in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring. Reduce to a simmer, and cook for 4 hours minimum.
  • Stir in another pinch of baking soda; the sauce will foam. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until thick and almost brown. Make sure to scrape the sides of the pan in to the sauce.
  • After the sauce is fork consistency, stir in Parmesan cheese. Watch that the cheese does not burn. Taste sauce. If it is too tangy or acidic, add another pinch of baking soda and simmer another 1/2 hour.
  • Cool, cover, and refrigerate overnight. The next day, reheat and serve.

WORLD'S GREATEST SPAGHETTI SAUCE

WORLD'S GREATEST SPAGHETTI SAUCE image

Categories     Tomato

Number Of Ingredients 19

3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 pound ground beef, browned
1 medium to large onion diced
3 cloves finely chopped garlic
3 tbsp finely chopped parsley (if you use fresh use a little more)
one 28oz can of crushed tomatoes
one 28oz can of diced tomatoes
one1 15oz can of tomato sauce
one 6oz can tomato paste
1 cup Chianti (or other dry red wine)
2 tbsp finely chopped basil (if you use fresh use a little more)
1 tbsp finely chopped oregano (if you use fresh use a little more)
2 large bay leaves
1/3 cup loosely packed grated carrot
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 to3/4 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
2 pinches of sugar

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a large (at least 4.5 quart) pot over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the ground beef, onion and parsley and cook until the onion is translucent and beef is browned. While the beef is cooking open all the cans of tomato products. Once the beef is done, add the garlic and cook for about a minute or so...don't let it get to the point of getting brown (if you see it just turning brown that's as far as you want to go). Add all the tomato products and Chianti and stir until smooth. Lower the heat to medium. Add the basil, oregano, bay leaves, carrot, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, red pepper and sugar. Once the sauce begins to bubble, lower the heat to medium-low so that it just barely bubbles. Cook over medium-low to low heat for a couple of hours (stir often) so some of the liquid cooks off. Don't cover the pot, but use a splash screen to keep the mess down if you like.

THE BEST HOMEMADE SPAGHETTI SAUCE EVER. PERIOD.

The Best Homemade Spaghetti Sauce Ever. Period. image

When I found my Taste of Home magazine in my mailbox, I was excited to try this slow cooker recipe for "Stamp of Approval Spaghetti Sauce" Orginally submitted by Melissa Taylor of Higley AZ. This sauce is the best stuff I have ever tasted- there is no comparison in taste between store bought and this! Everyone that I made it for, my hubby, son, sister, mom and dad loved it and I (shamefully) ate 2 bowls full of plain sauce before serving! Just try it. Notice- It makes a BIG crock pot full of sauce!

1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon canola oil (I used Olive Oil )
2 teaspoons dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
4 bay leaves
1 teaspoon rubbed sage (I used ground )
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 teaspoon pepper
hot cooked spaghetti

  • Stir in the tomatoes, tomato paste, water, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, oil and seasonings.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until bubbly.
  • Discard bay leaves.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. This means using fresh vegetables, herbs, and spices, as well as a good quality olive oil. Buying organic or locally-sourced ingredients is also a great way to ensure that you're getting the best possible ingredients.
  • Take your time. A good spaghetti sauce takes time to develop its flavor. Don't rush the process by cooking the sauce over high heat or for a short period of time. Instead, let the sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes, or even longer if you have the time.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment. There are many different ways to make a spaghetti sauce, so feel free to experiment with different ingredients and techniques. Try adding different vegetables, herbs, or spices, or try cooking the sauce in a different way, such as in a slow cooker or in a Dutch oven.

Conclusion:

The best spaghetti sauce in the world is the one that you make with love and care. By following the tips above, you can create a delicious and flavorful spaghetti sauce that your family and friends will love. So next time you're making spaghetti, take your time, experiment with different ingredients, and enjoy the process. The result will be a delicious and memorable meal.
