Tips:
- Choose the right berries: Use a variety of berries to get a mix of flavors and nutrients. Fresh or frozen berries can be used.
- Use a sugar substitute: This recipe uses Stevia, a natural sugar substitute that does not raise blood sugar levels. Other sugar substitutes can be used, but be sure to adjust the amount to match the sweetness of sugar.
- Make a homemade pie crust: The recipe includes instructions for a homemade pie crust made with almond flour and coconut oil. This crust is low in carbohydrates and gluten-free.
- Don't overcook the berries: Overcooking the berries will make them mushy. Cook them just until they are tender and have released their juices.
- Let the pie cool completely before serving: This will allow the filling to set and the crust to become firm.
Conclusion:
This diabetic-friendly berry pie is a delicious and healthy dessert that can be enjoyed by people with diabetes and those who are watching their sugar intake. The pie is made with a variety of berries, a sugar substitute, and a homemade pie crust made with almond flour and coconut oil. The pie is easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
