Steps:
- Make the apple topping before making the waffles because they cook up so fast and the apple topping will stay warm while the waffles are cooking.
- For the caramel apple topping combine diced apples, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, syrup, and chopped pecans in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 5 to 6 minutes or until the apples are very tender. Leave in the saucepan to stay warm while the waffles cook.
- Heat waffle iron and spray with non stick cookie spray. Place 4 cinnamon rolls in the waffle iron and cook for about 1 1/2 minutes or until done. (You may need to open slightly and peek inside)
- When done remove to a plate and frost immediately.
- Spoon apple topping over the cooked waffles.
- So YUMMY!
APPLE CINNAMON WAFFLES
I just purchased a new waffle iron and am on a search for awesome waffle recipes. This is one I found on Mr.Breakfast.com. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family did. Any left over waffles would freeze well (OAMC). NOTE: You can also try adding different fruits and spices instead of apple and cinnamon. I added a couple fistfuls of semi-sweet chocolate chips to the batter and the grandkids flipped over them.

Tips:
- Use fresh apples: Fresh apples provide the best flavor and texture for waffles.
- Peel and core the apples: Peeling and coring the apples will help them cook evenly and prevent the waffles from becoming too chewy.
- Grate the apples: Grating the apples will help them distribute evenly throughout the batter and prevent them from clumping together.
- Use a good quality cinnamon: A good quality cinnamon will provide the best flavor for the waffles. Look for cinnamon that is fresh and has a strong aroma.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the waffles tough. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
- Cook the waffles on a hot waffle iron: A hot waffle iron will help the waffles cook evenly and prevent them from sticking.
- Serve the waffles immediately: Waffles are best served immediately after they are cooked. They can be served with butter, syrup, fruit, or whipped cream.
Conclusion:
Apple cinnamon waffles are a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch recipe. They are perfect for a lazy weekend morning or a special occasion. The waffles are light and fluffy, with a tender crumb and a sweet and cinnamon-y flavor. They are sure to be a hit with family and friends.
