Tips:

  • Selecting the Right Zucchini: Choose firm, small to medium-sized zucchini for a better texture and flavor. Overgrown zucchini can be watery and bland.
  • Squeeze Out Excess Moisture: After grating the zucchini, use a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth to squeeze out excess moisture. This will prevent the pie from becoming soggy.
  • Use Fresh Herbs: Fresh herbs like basil, oregano, or thyme add a burst of flavor to the pie. If using dried herbs, reduce the quantity by half.
  • Don't Overmix: Overmixing the batter can result in a tough pie crust. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake at the Right Temperature: Bake the pie at a moderate temperature (350°F) for even cooking and to prevent the crust from browning too quickly.
  • Let it Cool: Allow the pie to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the filling to set and prevent it from becoming runny.

Conclusion:

The zucchini brunch pie is a versatile and delicious dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. With its combination of fresh zucchini, savory cheese, and a flaky crust, this pie is sure to be a hit with family and friends.
