- In the morning, put the beans in a large pot and fill with water. Bring the beans to a boil, discard the water and bring to a boil for a second time, again discard the water. Line the bottom of the clay pot with some of the bacon, mix the sauce, onion and beans together, then add to the clay pot. Top with remaining bacon. Note: If you'd like, you can soak the navy beans overnight in water, instead of double boiling them before starting. Select 'slow cook', 'soup' - 2 hours After the two hours is up the pot will switch to the 'keep warm' feature which is about 156 degrees. Allow it to remain in the 'keep warm' for about 4 or 5 hours.

Tips:
- Choose dried beans that are fresh and free of blemishes or mold. Soaking the beans overnight or for at least 8 hours before cooking softens them and helps to reduce the cooking time.
- If you don't have the time to soak the beans overnight, you can quick-soak them by bringing them to a boil in a large pot of water, then removing them from the heat and letting them sit for 1 hour before draining them and rinsing them.
- Use a slow cooker that is large enough to accommodate the beans and other ingredients. A 6-quart or larger slow cooker is ideal.
- Add plenty of liquid to the slow cooker. The beans should be covered with liquid by at least 2 inches.
- Beans can be cooked on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.
- Season the beans with your favorite spices and herbs. Some popular options include salt, pepper, garlic, onion, cumin, chili powder, and paprika.
- You can add other ingredients to the slow cooker with the beans, such as vegetables, meat, or sausage.
- Serve the beans over rice, potatoes, or cornbread.
Conclusion:
Slow-cooker baked beans are an easy and delicious side dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for potlucks, picnics, and other gatherings. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a hearty and flavorful dish that everyone will love.
