Time 10m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 ounces strawberries, stemmed
3 tablespoons lemonade, frozen concentrate thawed
1 teaspoon mint leaf, chopped
1 cup crushed ice
1/4 cup sparkling water
1 whole strawberry
1 mint sprig

Steps:

  • In blender, combine strawberries, lemonade and chopped mint.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Add ice; blend until smooth.
  • Pour into glass.
  • Top with 1/4 cup sparkling water; mix.
  • Garnish glass with strawberry and mint sprig.
  • Serve with straws.

Tips:

  • Use fresh mint: Fresh mint leaves provide the best flavor for a mint julep. If you don't have fresh mint on hand, you can use dried mint leaves, but they won't be as flavorful.
  • Chill your ingredients: Chilling the bourbon, mint, and simple syrup before making your julep will help to create a more refreshing drink.
  • Use a julep cup: A julep cup is the traditional glass for serving a mint julep. It's a tall, narrow glass with a wide rim, which helps to keep the drink cold and prevent it from diluting too quickly.
  • Garnish with a mint sprig: A mint sprig is the perfect finishing touch for a mint julep. It adds a pop of color and flavor to the drink.

Conclusion:

The mint julep is a classic Southern cocktail that is perfect for enjoying on a hot summer day. It's easy to make and only requires a few ingredients. With its refreshing flavor and beautiful presentation, the mint julep is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering.
