Number Of Ingredients 9

2 cups white sugar
1 cup butter, softened
3 ½ cups cake flour
1 cup milk
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
4 eggs
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, with electric mixer at low speed, beat sugar and butter or margarine until blended. Increase speed to high, and beat until light and fluffy. Add flour, milk, baking powder, vanilla, salt, and eggs; beat at medium speed until well mixed. Increase speed to high, and beat batter 4 minutes longer.

Tips:

  • Prep your Ingredients: Before starting, measure and prepare all your ingredients. This will make the baking process smoother and faster.
  • Room Temperature Ingredients: For best results, use ingredients that are at room temperature. This allows them to blend together evenly and create a smooth batter.
  • Cream Butter and Sugar Properly: Creaming butter and sugar together until light and fluffy is essential for a tender and flavorful cake. Start with cold butter and gradually add the sugar, creaming until the mixture is pale yellow and fluffy.
  • Measure Flour Correctly: To ensure accurate measurements, use a kitchen scale to weigh the flour. Alternatively, fluff the flour with a spoon before spooning it into the measuring cup and level it off with a knife.
  • Do Not Overmix: Overmixing the batter can result in a tough and dense cake. Mix only until the ingredients are combined and avoid overworking the gluten in the flour.
  • Bake at the Right Temperature: Preheat your oven to the correct temperature before baking. Keep the oven door closed during baking to avoid temperature fluctuations.
  • Cool Cake Properly: Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before glazing or serving. This helps prevent the icing from melting and the cake from crumbling.

Conclusion:

The vanilla marbled pound cake is a classic and delicious treat that can be enjoyed for any occasion. With careful preparation and attention to detail, you can create a moist, flavorful, and visually stunning cake that is sure to impress your friends and family.
