2 tablespoons milk
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls (8 Count) or 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheet
16 very thin slices (about 4x4 inches) smoked turkey (5 1/2 oz)

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Look for fresh, organic, and free-range turkey if possible.
  • Don't overcook the turkey. It should be cooked until just tender, about 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • If you're using a store-bought rotisserie turkey, let it cool completely before shredding it.
  • Be sure to season the turkey with salt and pepper, and add other herbs and spices to your taste.
  • Use a good quality bread for the Monte Cristo sandwiches. A sturdy bread, such as challah or brioche, will hold up well to the cooking process.
  • Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the bread before adding the turkey and cheese. This will add a tangy flavor to the sandwich.
  • Use a good quality cheese that melts well. A sharp cheddar or Gruyère are both good choices.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the Monte Cristo sandwiches. Cook them in batches if necessary, so that they have room to brown evenly.
  • Serve the Monte Cristo sandwiches immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as honey mustard or maple syrup.

Conclusion:

Turkey Jack Appetizers: Mini Monte Cristos are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. They are made with shredded turkey, cheese, and Dijon mustard, and then fried until golden brown. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
