RICE PAPER TUNA SALAD ROLL

Rice Paper Tuna Salad Roll image

This recipe comes from Chef Michael Smith at the Food Network. My fiance and I make this quite often as it makes a quick, light lunch. Would also work great as an appetizer. This recipe is quite versatile so feel free to substitute ingredients as you like.

Time 15m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 rice paper sheets
1 (6 ounce) can tuna, drained
1 tablespoon grainy mustard (I use dijon)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 green onion, sliced
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
1 dill pickle, cut into quarters lengthwise
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Pour some water into a shallow dish. Add rice paper sheets and soak for about 2 minutes, until they become translucent and soften. Lay on a kitchen towel and blot to dry.
  • Toss tuna together with mustard, oil, lemon juice, green onion, cilantro, salt and pepper.
  • Place a rice paper wrap on the counter and lay a piece of dill pickle along the edge closest to you. Add one quarter of the tuna salad on top of the pickle and give 1 complete roll.
  • Fold in ends and continue to roll up. Repeat for each wrap.

Tips:

- Use high-quality tuna for the best flavor. Look for tuna that is sustainably caught and packed in water or olive oil. - If you don't have rice paper wrappers, you can use spring roll wrappers instead. Just be sure to soak them in warm water for a few minutes before using so they're pliable. - To make the wraps easier to roll, place a damp paper towel on a cutting board and work on top of it. This will help prevent the wrappers from sticking. - Be careful not to overfill the wraps or they will be difficult to roll and may fall apart. - Serve the wraps with your favorite dipping sauce, such as soy sauce, peanut sauce, or sweet and sour sauce.

Conclusion:

Tuna rice paper wraps are a delicious and healthy appetizer or light meal. They're easy to make and can be customized with your favorite ingredients. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give tuna rice paper wraps a try!
