TIPSY PEACH LEMONADE

One sip of this cocktail, and we guarantee this will be your new favorite summertime drink! The lemon and peach juices make for a tasty combination. Very refreshing!

Provided by Maggie M

Categories     Cocktails

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 fresh peaches peeled and diced
1 c granulated sugar
4 c water
3/4 c lemon juice - fresh if you have it
peach slices and lemon zest for garnish
1 oz vodka per serving ** omit for non alcoholic version

Steps:

  • 1. NOTE: This is such a great drink but it does not need to contain the alcohol. Make it alcohol free by omitting the liquor .. you won't be disappointed !
  • 2. Put diced peaches, sugar and water into a 2 qt pot. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer until sugar is completely dissolved - approximately 10 minutes.
  • 3. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. Strain through a sieve, pressing to extract as much juice as possible, saving the extracted juice in a separate container. If you would like to use the pulp you can skip the straining procedure but it will be very thick.
  • 4. Stir lemon juice into the cooked juice - with or without the fruit. Ladle into a tall glass that has been filled with ice. Add vodka and stir.
  • 5. Garnish with fresh peach slices if desired.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe and flavorful peaches: The quality of your peaches will greatly impact the taste of your lemonade. Look for peaches that are fragrant, plump, and have a slight give when pressed.
  • Use fresh lemon juice: Fresh lemon juice provides a brighter and more vibrant flavor compared to bottled or concentrated lemon juice. If you don't have fresh lemons on hand, you can substitute lime juice or a combination of lemon and lime juice.
  • Adjust the sweetness to your liking: The amount of sugar or honey you add to your lemonade is a matter of personal preference. Start with a small amount and taste test as you go, adding more sweetener until you reach the desired level of sweetness.
  • Let the lemonade chill: Chilled lemonade is more refreshing and flavorful. Allow the lemonade to chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving, or overnight for a more intense flavor.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs or fruit: Fresh herbs like mint or basil, or slices of lemon or peach, add a pop of color and flavor to your lemonade. They also make your lemonade look more inviting.

Conclusion:

Tipsy peach lemonade is a delicious and refreshing cocktail that is perfect for summer gatherings. With its combination of sweet, tart, and boozy flavors, this lemonade is sure to be a hit with your friends and family.
