THANKSGIVING TURKEY COOKIES RECIPE - (4.4/5)

Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies Recipe - (4.4/5) image

Provided by á-10360

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 roll (16.5 ounce) Pillsbury® refrigerated sugar cookies or 1 (16 ounce) package Pillsbury® Ready To Bake!™ refrigerated sugar cookies
1 (16 ounce) container chocolate creamy frosting
Candy corn
Orange decorating icing
Miniature candy-coated chocolate baking bits

Steps:

  • Bake cookies as directed on roll or package. Cool completely, about 10 minutes. Spoon chocolate frosting into 1-quart Ziploc® Brand storage bag; seal bag. Cut off tiny bottom corner of bag. On each cookie, pipe frosting on outer edge of half of cookie. Arrange candy corn over frosting for feathers. Pipe orange icing onto each cookie to resemble turkey face and feet. Use orange icing to attach baking bits to turkey face for eyes. Pipe black gel on baking bits for centers of eyes.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the taste of your cookies.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will help to incorporate air into the dough, making the cookies lighter and more tender.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing can make the cookies tough.
  • Chill the dough before baking. This will help the cookies to hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies at the correct temperature. If the oven is too hot, the cookies will brown too quickly and may burn. If the oven is too cool, the cookies will not bake properly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before serving. This will help to prevent them from falling apart.

Conclusion:

Thanksgiving cookies are a delicious and festive way to celebrate the holiday. With so many different recipes to choose from, there's sure to be a cookie that everyone will enjoy. Whether you prefer classic recipes like pumpkin pie cookies or something more unique like cranberry-orange cookies or maple-bacon cookies, you're sure to find the perfect recipe to make your Thanksgiving dinner extra special.
