Categories     Vegetable

Time 20m

Yield 2-3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb spinach leaves, stems removed
1 tablespoon basil or 1 tablespoon oregano
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Steps:

  • In a heavy skillet, saute onion in olive oil until transparent.
  • Add garlic and sauté another 2 minutes.
  • Add spinach and basil or oregano, and cover until spinach is wilted.
  • Just before serving, add balsamic vinegar.

Tips:

  • Fresh is best: Use fresh spinach for the best flavor and texture. If using frozen spinach, thaw it completely before using and squeeze out any excess moisture.
  • Wilt the spinach: Wilting the spinach helps to remove excess moisture and makes it easier to incorporate into the recipes.
  • Use a variety of spices and seasonings: Spinach has a mild flavor, so it can easily be paired with a variety of spices and seasonings. Some popular options include garlic, onion, salt, pepper, cumin, and paprika.
  • Don't overcook the spinach: Spinach cooks very quickly, so it's important to avoid overcooking it. Overcooked spinach will become slimy and lose its flavor.

Spinach is a versatile and nutritious vegetable that can be used in a variety of recipes. These spinach treats are all delicious and easy to make, and they're a great way to get your daily dose of vegetables. So next time you're looking for a healthy and satisfying snack or meal, give one of these spinach treats a try.
