SPICY SHRIMP & PENNE PASTA

Spicy Shrimp & Penne Pasta image

I created this creamy pasta dish when I needed to use up some marinara. Red pepper flakes give it a little heat, which my family loves. It's super versatile, so try it with chicken, or simply stir in some fresh basil, too. -Lorri Stout, Gaithersburg, Maryland

Tips:

  • Use Fresh Shrimp: Fresh shrimp will give your dish the best flavor and texture. If you can, buy shrimp that is still in its shell. This will help to keep the shrimp moist and flavorful during cooking.
  • Cook Shrimp Properly: Shrimp cooks very quickly, so it's important not to overcook it. Overcooked shrimp will be tough and rubbery. Cook shrimp for just a few minutes, or until it turns pink and opaque.
  • Use a Variety of Vegetables: This recipe uses a variety of vegetables, including broccoli, carrots, and zucchini. You can use any vegetables that you like, so feel free to get creative.
  • Use a Good Quality Olive Oil: Olive oil is a key ingredient in this recipe. Make sure to use a good quality olive oil that has a fruity flavor.
  • Season the Dish Well: Salt and pepper are essential for seasoning this dish. You can also add other herbs and spices to taste, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.

Conclusion:

This shrimp penne recipe is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner. The shrimp is cooked perfectly and the vegetables are tender and flavorful. The sauce is creamy and cheesy, and the pasta is cooked al dente. This dish is sure to please everyone at the table.
