It is made with a simple pastry dough filled with a mixture of brown sugar, butter, flour, and cream. The result is a rich, buttery, and slightly chewy tart that is perfect for any occasion. This article presents two variations of the classic tarte au sucre: the traditional recipe and a version with a streusel topping. Both recipes are easy to follow and yield delicious results. The traditional tarte au sucre is made with a simple pastry dough that is rolled out and placed in a tart pan. The filling is made by combining brown sugar, butter, flour, and cream and then pouring it onto the pastry dough. The tart is then baked until the filling is set and the pastry is golden brown. The streusel topping version of the tarte au sucre adds an extra layer of flavor and texture. The streusel topping is made by combining flour, sugar, butter, and cinnamon and then sprinkling it over the filling before baking. The result is a tart that is both sweet and savory, with a crispy streusel topping that adds a delightful crunch. My grandmother use to make a "tarte au sucre" for every family gathering. The kids would be wired all day, lol. I have been looking for a recipe that turns out like hers for a long time now. I have tried a few, all delicious, but not quite the same. A few weeks ago, my Mom was looking through a box of stuff left behind after my grandma passed away a while back and , there it was....... Her recipe for tarte au sucre. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. You might want to have a glass of milk with you when you do eat it, it is extremely sweet!
