Tips:

  • Make sure the butter is at room temperature before creaming it with the sugar. This will help the frosting become light and fluffy.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor. Bottled lemon juice can be used, but the flavor will not be as bright.
  • Add the lemon juice and zest gradually to the frosting, tasting as you go. This will help you achieve the desired level of tanginess.
  • If the frosting is too thick, add a little milk or cream until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • If the frosting is too thin, beat it for a few more minutes until it thickens.
  • Use the frosting immediately or store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Tangy lemon frosting is a delicious and versatile frosting that can be used on a variety of desserts. It is perfect for cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and even pies. The bright citrus flavor of the lemon pairs well with a variety of other flavors, making it a great choice for any occasion.
