Tips:

- **Mise en place:** Before you start baking, make sure you have all your ingredients and equipment ready. This will help you stay organized and avoid any scrambling. - **Use room temperature ingredients:** This will help your ingredients blend together more easily and create a smoother batter. - **Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy:** This will help incorporate air into the batter, resulting in a lighter, more tender cake. - **Gradually add the eggs to the batter:** Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. This will help prevent the batter from curdling. - **Do not overmix the batter:** Overmixing can make the cake tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined. - **Bake the cake in a preheated oven:** This will help ensure that the cake bakes evenly. - **Check the cake for doneness:** Insert a toothpick into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. - **Let the cake cool completely before frosting:** This will help prevent the frosting from melting.
