SRIRACHA SWEET AND SPICY CHICKEN WINGS RECIPE - (4.7/5)

Sriracha Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings Recipe - (4.7/5) image

Provided by fionalikesfood

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 tbsp. unsalted butter
1/2 c. ketchup
2 tsp. sugar
Sriracha hot sauce to taste, probably about 4-5 good shakes
12 chicken wings
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1/2 dozen green onions, finely sliced

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter in a saucepan and add ketchup, sugar, sriracha, salt and pepper 2. Taste sauce and adjust seasonings as necessary 3. Fill a deep pan 1/3 full with cooking oil and heat to 375 degrees 4. Cut chicken wings at the joints and discard wing tips 5. Dry wings thoroughly and leave at room temperate for a few minutes before frying to prevent oil from cooling down significantly once chicken is in 6. Add chicken to oil and stir to separate, try to keep oil temperature at 375 degrees 7. Cook until crisp and golden, about 8 minutes 8. While chicken is cooking, add green onions to sauce 9. Drain wings on paper towels and toss in sauce 10. Pile on plate and garnish with extra green onions

Tips:

  • Choose the right wings: Look for wings that are plump and have a good amount of meat on them. Avoid wings that are thin or have a lot of skin.
  • Pat the wings dry: This will help the sauce to better adhere to the wings.
  • Use a flavorful marinade: The marinade will help to infuse the wings with flavor. Be sure to marinate the wings for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 24 hours.
  • Cook the wings thoroughly: The wings should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. You can cook the wings in the oven, on the grill, or in the air fryer.
  • Make sure the sauce is hot: The sauce should be hot enough to coat the wings and give them a nice kick. If you don't like your wings too spicy, you can reduce the amount of Sriracha sauce in the recipe.
  • Serve the wings with your favorite dipping sauce: Some popular dipping sauces for sweet Sriracha wings include ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, and honey mustard.

Conclusion:

Sweet Sriracha wings are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. They are perfect for game day parties, potlucks, or any other casual gathering. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that is sure to please everyone. So next time you are looking for a new recipe to try, give sweet Sriracha wings a try!
