½ cup brown sugar
2 (16 ounce) cans Dr Pepper® soda
½ teaspoon minced garlic
½ teaspoon black pepper
8 pork chops

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with foil.
  • In a bowl, stir together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, soda, garlic, and pepper until the sugar has dissolved. Set the sauce aside. Place the pork chops on the prepared baking sheet.

8 pork chops
1 garlic clove
1 onion, in rings
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
1 apple, chopped
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 cup Coke
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon thyme
salt
pepper

Steps:

  • First mix all the spices.
  • Then put half of the spice mixture and the garlic cloves on the pork chops. Leave them for 1 hour.
  • Brown the pork chops in a skillet with the oil and then put them in a casserole dish.Add the remaining spice mix.
  • Put the butter in the skillet then the maple syrup and arrange the onion rings. Cook until tender.
  • Place the onions on the pork chops.
  • Add half of the coke in the skillet and then add the apple and cook until tender.
  • Place the apples on the pork chops and add the remaining coke.
  • Cover with foil and place in the oven for 40 minutes at 330°F.

1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
1/2 cup coarsely chopped fresh cilantro, plus more for serving

1/4 cup apricot jam
3 tablespoons sambal oelek or chili-garlic sauce
1 head broccoli (12 ounces), cut into large florets
3 small sweet potatoes, scrubbed and cut into 1-inch wedges
1/4 cup vegetable oil, plus more for drizzling
4 bone-in pork chops (each 1 inch thick), preferably rib end
