Tips:

  • Use fresh strawberries. Fresh strawberries have the best flavor and will produce the best filling. If you can't find fresh strawberries, you can use frozen strawberries that have been thawed and drained.
  • Hull the strawberries before slicing them. Hulling the strawberries removes the stem and the core, which can be tough and unpleasant to eat.
  • Slice the strawberries evenly. This will help them cook evenly.
  • Use a large bowl to mix the filling. This will give you plenty of room to stir the ingredients together.
  • Bring the filling to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. This will help the flavors to meld and the filling to thicken.
  • Remove the filling from the heat and let it cool completely before using it. This will help to prevent the filling from becoming too runny.

Conclusion:

Strawberry pie filling is a delicious and versatile filling that can be used in a variety of desserts, including pies, tarts, and cobblers. It is also a great way to use up fresh strawberries when they are in season. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make your own homemade strawberry pie filling that is sure to impress your family and friends.
