SPINACH, MANDARIN ORANGE, STRAWBERRY, RED ONION SALAD

Spinach, mandarin orange, strawberry, red onion salad image

Easy and hits all the taste buds! great for a summer cookout...so tasty, kids wouldnt even know its spinach!

Provided by Danielle Matthews

Categories     Salads

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 pkg baby spinach
1 pkg strawberries, fresh
2 can(s) canned mandarin oranges
1 red onion
1 bottle light raspberry vinagarette dressing

Steps:

  • 1. Wash and drain spinach and take off large stems. Put in large bowl.
  • 2. Wash and drain strawberries and cut into quarters. Put into bowl.
  • 3. Slice red onion thinly and put into bowl. I use whole onion but if you want, you can use half.
  • 4. Drain mandarin oranges and put into bowl.
  • 5. Just before serving, pour bottle of dressing and mix ingredients. I use whole bottle, but you can use it to taste. Its best to finish off the salad because the spinach gets soggy if leftover.

Tips:

  • Fresh ingredients: Use fresh, ripe strawberries and oranges for the best flavor. If you can, use organic produce to minimize pesticide exposure.
  • Choose the right spinach: Baby spinach or young spinach leaves work best in this salad. Avoid using mature spinach, which can be tough and bitter.
  • Make the dressing ahead of time: The dressing can be made up to 2 days ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. This will save you time when you're ready to assemble the salad.
  • Don't overdress the salad: A little dressing goes a long way. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
  • Serve the salad immediately: This salad is best enjoyed fresh. Don't let it sit for too long, or the spinach will wilt and the oranges will lose their flavor.

Conclusion:

Strawberry orange spinach salad is a delicious and refreshing dish that is perfect for any occasion. It's packed with nutrients and antioxidants, and it's a great way to get your daily dose of fruits and vegetables. With its vibrant colors and flavors, this salad is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a healthy and delicious salad recipe, give this strawberry orange spinach salad a try.
