STRAW HAT

Categories     Salad     Beef     Sauté     Quick & Easy

Yield 6-8 people

Number Of Ingredients 10

lettuce
tomato, chopped or sliced
shredded cheddar cheese
1 lb. hamburger meat
1 package taco seasoning
1 small onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, peeled and chopped
Doritos or Fritos
1 can Ranch Style Beans
Catalina French Dressing

Steps:

  • Brown hamburger meat in a skillet. Just before it is done, add onion and garlic. Mix in Taco Seasoning Mix according to package directions. Heat Ranch Style Beans. Crush chips. To serve, layer crushed chips (try Nacho Cheese Doritos for extra flavor), beans, meat, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Top with dressing. (Using Catalina is traditional, but my husband loves this with Ranch dressing instead.) You can leave the beans out if you wish, or substitute refried beans, pork and beans, etc. When it gave me the choice of picking the type of dish, I chose salad, but this is a full meal by itself.

Tips

  • Choose the right straw: Look for straws that are made of natural materials like wheat, paper, or bamboo. These straws are biodegradable and won't harm the environment.
  • Clean your straws regularly: Straws can harbor bacteria, so it's important to clean them regularly. You can wash them in the dishwasher or by hand with warm soapy water.
  • Be careful with hot drinks: Straws can conduct heat, so be careful when drinking hot beverages. To avoid burns, take small sips and don't hold the straw in your mouth for too long.
  • Don't reuse straws: Straws are not meant to be reused. They can become contaminated with bacteria and other microorganisms, so it's best to dispose of them after a single use.
  • Encourage others to use straws: Help reduce plastic waste by encouraging your friends and family to use straws made from sustainable materials.

Conclusion

Straws are a small but important part of our everyday lives. By making the switch to sustainable straws, we can help reduce our impact on the environment and protect our oceans. So next time you're enjoying a cold drink, reach for a straw made from wheat, paper, or bamboo. You'll be glad you did!
