Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh, flavorful ingredients will make a big difference in the taste of your macaroni. Look for high-quality pasta, flavorful tomatoes, and fresh herbs.
  • Don't overcook the pasta: Pasta should be cooked al dente, or slightly firm to the bite. Overcooked pasta will be mushy and unpleasant.
  • Use a large pot: You'll need a large pot to cook the pasta and sauce together. A Dutch oven or large saucepan works well.
  • Season the sauce to taste: Taste the sauce before serving and adjust the seasonings as needed. You may want to add more salt, pepper, or herbs.
  • Serve immediately: Italian macaroni is best served hot and fresh. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, but it's best to reheat it before serving.
