Yield 6 people

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 pounds chicken wings
1 cup low sodium soy sauce,
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
3 tablespoons (rice) vinegar
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 lime, juiced
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 cup honey
Sesame seeds, for garnish

Steps:

  • Rinse chicken wings and pat dry. Remove tip and discard; separate each wing at the joint into 2 pieces. Meanwhile reduce remaining marinade until thick and baste wings during cooking time. Cook until the wings are sticky and cooked through. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve.

Tips:

  • To achieve crispy wings, ensure they are thoroughly dried before coating them in the marinade.
  • When marinating the wings, allow them to rest for at least 30 minutes, or even overnight for enhanced flavor.
  • Use a combination of light and dark soy sauce for a rich and complex flavor in the marinade.
  • Add a touch of honey or brown sugar to the marinade to create a sticky and caramelized glaze on the wings.
  • For an extra layer of flavor, incorporate aromatic ingredients like ginger, garlic, and green onions into the marinade.
  • Bake the wings at a high temperature initially, then reduce the heat to allow them to cook through without burning.
  • Baste the wings with the reserved marinade throughout the baking process to keep them moist and flavorful.
  • Serve the wings hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as classic ranch or a spicy Sriracha mayo.
