Steps:
- Place each color of candy melts into separate microwave-safe bowls. Working with 1 color at a time, heat in microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Dip 10 pretzel rods in each blue, green and red melted candy coating, stopping 2 inches from end; allow excess to drip off. Immediately roll in matching colored sugar. Let stand on a parchment-lined pan until set. Reheat candy coating as needed. Adding 1 teaspoon at a time, stir melted black candy coating into the white until desired shade of gray is achieved; reserve remaining melted black candy coating. Dip the uncoated end of the pretzel rods into melted gray candy coating for handle; allow excess to drip off. Return to parchment-lined pan until set. Place reserved melted black candy coating into a piping bag fitted with a small round tip; pipe 3 lines onto handle. For power buttons, secure M&M's minis to handles with melted black candy coating. Allow to set completely before serving. Store at room temperature in an airtight container between layers of waxed paper.

Steps:
- In a double boiler, melt your white chocolate.
- Prepare three separate smaller bowls and divide the white chocolate evenly.
- Add your food coloring (red, green, and blue) to each of the bowls of white chocolate, so you have three bowls each with a separate color. Note: if you are using liquid food coloring your white chocolate may seize, so it's best to use gel. However, if you are using liquid food coloring, be prepared to gently reheat your chocolate so it can better mix with the food color.
- Dip your pretzel rods into the chocolate, one chocolate color per pretzel; leaving a small amount uncovered at the base. Tap the pretzel gently over the bowl to remove any excess chocolate.
- Let dry on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Tips:
- Choose the right materials: The best lightsabers are made from durable materials like metal or plastic. Avoid using materials that are easily breakable, such as glass or cardboard.
- Be careful with the wiring: The wiring is a critical part of the lightsaber, so be sure to solder it carefully. If you're not comfortable working with electrical wiring, you can ask a friend or family member for help.
- Test the lightsaber before you use it: Once you've assembled the lightsaber, test it out to make sure it works properly. Swing it around and see if the blade lights up evenly. If there are any problems, troubleshoot them before you use the lightsaber in a fight.
- Be safe when using the lightsaber: Lightsabers are powerful weapons, so it's important to be safe when using them. Never point the lightsaber at anyone's face or body, and always wear safety goggles when using it.
Conclusion:
Building a Star Wars lightsaber is a fun and rewarding experience. With a little time and effort, you can create a realistic and functional lightsaber that will impress your friends and family. Just be sure to choose the right materials, be careful with the wiring, test the lightsaber before you use it, and be safe when using it.
