This recipe was given to me 41 years ago by my husband's grandmother.

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 cups raisins
2 cups water
½ cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1 tablespoon butter
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie

Steps:

  • Combine raisins and water in a small saucepan. Boil 5 minutes. Blend brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt together; add to hot raisins. Cook and stir until syrup is clear. Remove from heat, and stir in vinegar and butter or margarine. Cool slightly.
  • Turn filling into a pastry lined pan. Cover with top crust. Seal edges, and cut slits in the top crust.
  • Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 30 to 35 minutes.

2 - 4.5 oz boxes, raisins
3 eggs
2/3 c sugar
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 c corn syrup
1/3 c butter, melted
1 c chopped walnuts
1 - 9 inch pie crust

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, beat the eggs. To the eggs add the salt, sugar, spices, corn syrup, melted butter. Beat until well blended.
  • 2. Stir in the walnuts and raisins. Pour into prepared pie shell. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 40 to 50 minutes or until its set. Remove from oven and cool completely before serving.
  • 3. Enjoy! Its delicious!

¾ cup white sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup raisins
2 egg yolks, beaten
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 prepared 8 inch pastry shell, baked and cooled
2 egg whites
¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
¼ cup white sugar

Steps:

  • Combine 3/4 cup white sugar, cornstarch, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a saucepan. Stir in sour cream and lemon juice. Add the raisins. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook and stir until thick. Remove from heat.
  • Stir a small amount of the hot mixture into the egg yolks, and then return this to the hot mixture. Cook and stir for one minute. Cool filling to lukewarm, and then add the nuts. Pour into the cooled pie shell.
  • Beat egg whites with cream of tartar to soft peaks. Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar; beat until stiff peaks form, and all the sugar is dissolved. Spread meringue on pie, carefully sealing to the edges.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 12 to 15 minutes.

2/3 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon orange zest, finely grated
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, ground
1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 cup raisins, dark
1 pie crust, 9-inch

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 375 degrees.
